The Organized Sponsored Bike Tour

You are welcome to take part in the organized sponsored bike tour from Freiburg to Taize. The tour will last 7
days, covering a total of 400
km, and we will cycle between
40 km and 90 km per day. We
will spend the nights on farms or staying in churches. Together we want
to draw attention to the
current situation of world
hunger. At the same time we
can exchange ideas, learn
from each other, make new
connections and encourage
each other to create change.

Important Informations About the Organized Tour

  • We will spend 7 days cycling from Freiburg in Germany to Taize in France (17.08-24.08.2025)
  • Participating is at your own risk 
  • You need a bike and if possible a tent 
  • During the bike trip we will cook and eat together
  • The nights we will spend on farms, churches or in people's gardens
  • Like this we have as few expenses as possible (ca. 10 Euro per day)
  • As soon as we arrive in Taize it will cost between 75-110€ to stay in Taizé for the reflection week which includes food and accommodation 
  • Calum MacFarlane-Barrow (Co-Founder of Generation Hope and Leader of Mary'sMeals Youth Ambassador) will be giving workshops during the reflection week in Taize
  • Please sign up in the google form as soon as you know if you will join
  • For the trip back to Freiburg there is a Flix Bus from Chalon sur Salone to Freiburg, otherwise you can take the train. For your bike there is the possibility that it can be separately brought back to Freiburg without any expenses.

Exiting, you are interested to plan your own sponsored tour to Taizé! 
Have you already decided if you want to bike, hike or run? Are you already looking forward to this challenge?
You can choose to participate any way you want! 
Just make sure that you will arrive in Taize on the 24th of August 2025. On this day we will all arrive in Taizé and than stay there for the reflection week.
